US National Tropical Bonsai Exhibition
The Lone Star Bonsai Federation is thrilled to sponsor the inaugural US National Tropical Bonsai Exhibition—the first event ever dedicated exclusively to tropical bonsai!
This landmark Labor Day Weekend gathering will showcase the best 100 tropical bonsai from across the United States and Puerto Rico. Join us September 5-6, 2026, at the Marriott Westchase, 2900 Briarpark Dr., Houston, TX 77042.
The public is welcome both days to enjoy stunning exhibitions, live artist demonstrations, exhibition critiques, and the work of renowned artists: Pedro Morales (Puerto Rico), Dawn Koetting, Ed Trout, and Mike Lane (US). A highlight is the Awards Dinner on Saturday, September 5 at 6 PM, featuring $1,500 for Best in Show and numerous $500 prizes for categories including Best Large and Medium Tropical Bonsai, People’s Choice, Best Flowering and Fruiting Displays, Shohin displays, Japanese/Chinese/Contemporary styles, and more.
