I am Ryan Odegaard, your 2026-2027 LSBF President. With 20 years of studying and practicing bonsai — beginning in California and continuing since moving to Texas in 2011 — I am honored to serve our growing community. The Lone Star Bonsai Federation exists to foster cooperation among our 13 member clubs and societies across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, and to encourage the development and appreciation of bonsai as a living art throughout our region. Whether you are a longtime enthusiast or just discovering the joy of bonsai, we are excited to have you as part of this vibrant, supportive network.
One of my goals this year is to strengthen LSBF’s presence by increasing visibility at conventions, resuming regular newsletter publications, and improving communication among our clubs. We support our member clubs through the annual state convention, the traveling artist program, liability insurance, and other resources that help elevate the quality of bonsai in our tri-state area. I invite you to connect with your local club, participate in upcoming events, and reach out with any questions. Together, we continue to build on a proud history while growing an even brighter future for bonsai in our region.
